As a new writer I was compelled to write and share my stories as a way to connect and reflect with my own experiences, but more so to connect and inspire others from a place of what worked for me in growing.
My goal, or vision, is to eliminate Help Wanted ads by changing the way businesses hire and engage their employees and contractors. I believe everyone who wants a job can and should have one that they love and feel good about, and that everyone who employees people love every one of their employees and treats them fairly. Achieving this state of balance can be achieved with proper planning and execution of a model I’ve developed based on 30+ years of primary research with 100+ for-profit and not-for-profit companies throughout the western U.S and interviews with 250+ executives who work for them. That is what my book is about, and that’s the purpose of it.
The impact I hope my writing will make in the world is a clearer understanding of mental health illness. My book deals with the impact of mental illness on a family, especially the parents, and I’ve found through research there is so much many of us don’t understand about this illness. It is my hope that what I write will affect someone in a very positive way and help him or her to seek the help they need.
Since 2011, I’ve written a monthly column published by regional parenting magazines. I close each column with the reminder to “cherish the moments.” Before you know it, that little baby you were holding in your arms is standing taller than her mother. My book, MoMENts: A Dad Holds On, is a compilation of my columns and reminds readers to make the most of every moment.
My goal is to empower authors to be successful business professionals, while nurturing and protecting their creative fire. 🙂
I hope my writings bring a smile to someone who feels blue. I hope my writings give a new path and determination to walk it to someone who thinks life is too hard. I hope my writing gives gives common ground between generations for starting a conversation.
As a technical writer, I hope my writing helps someone understand a new concept or accomplish a task easily.
I hope to improve public confidence in the information they receive about matters important in their daily lives. My book is Plain Language In Plain English. http://www.lulu.com/shop/cheryl-stephens/plain-language-in-plain-english/paperback/product-11770154.html
I hope to empower young adults to find their creative passion in writing. We have so much access to information on how to write and publish these days, I want to encourage youth to focus on the lifetime creative benefits of writing.
I hope my writing enables people find their voices to bring their wholeselves to work.
I write to create connections. Good writing pulls a string between people and ideas, between strangers, between parents and their kids, between the earth under our feet and the unseen realities holding us there. I hope my words are connections that make the world closer, better, and more beautiful.
Thank you all for participating! Winners have been selected and will be notified shortly. I loved reading each and every response—thanks for sharing your heart and vision. It’s inspiring to read about your broader vision for impacting the world. I hope you make it happen.
I hope to make a positive social change in how people view their relationships with one another. It feels like men share their stories and they are accepted for all audiences but when women speak about injustices and inequality and how they overcame them, it becomes a women’s story. It would be wonderful if we could take a hard look at family structure and make it work for both men and women.
I just love this, Kimber! I agree wholeheartedly. I’m sorry the deadline passed before you commented, but thank you for entering!
