Hi, I'm Stacy

In this week’s podcast episode, I share an update on our life here and what we’re thinking through as the kids get older. I talk through some of the cons of living in the Algarve and the pros of the life we lead. I talk through the balance we’ve been able to achieve here and how intertwined our everyday life is with nature. And I share the challenges we’re facing as we consider life beyond our kids’ elementary school years.

We love our life here—but will it be enough for us in the long term? Listen in this week as I share where we are and what we’re exploring next.

That was very informative, thanks. I didn’t realize the school situation was so dire there so now I am leaning more towards my other choice of Mexico since there are many cheap but good bilingual schools there. I was also very surprised when you said your visa appointment was in Portuguese. I would have thought they could speak English since the whole point of their job is to deal with foreigners (most of whom are much more likely to be able to speak English rather than Portuguese).

Thanks for commenting, Mike! There are a wide range of foreigners that speak all sorts of languages, so while I was a little surprised they didn’t have an English speaker, I also wasn’t surprised because there are so many language needs in a single office. 🙂 Best of luck as you decide on your move!
